It’s me!

Oh hey! While my passion is to tell your story through photography, I am even more so DEEPLY in love with making memories and capturing life with my people. Biking, hiking, playing with the chickens, tending to the garden or just watching a movie…when we’re together, life feels perfect. When we were 15, my husband and I met and fell in love. (I was mildly obsessed with him, haha) I wasn’t allowed to date until I was out of the house, but we didn’t let that rule stop our relationship from growing. We wrote handwritten letters back and forth (still have them!) and snuck in a little hand holding when we could. We persevered through some hard times and were married before we turned 21. Babies came, and naturally, I picked up the camera to capture every second of their lives! Haven’t stopped since…and I have the hard drives to prove it!

For 14 years we lived in the LowCountry. I was so grateful for the oak trees and spanish moss as my photography journey grew. Living near the beach (and Grandparents!) was such a blessing for that season of our lives, but in 2021, our hearts were drawn to the mountains. We moved to Boise, Id. and found a place we truly feel is home. Moving has only brought more adventures our way. While I still travel back to the East Coast for weddings, I have absolutely loved that I’m able to capture so much beauty right where I live.

We had the pleasure of working with Carrie Friesen for our wedding at the Westin Hilton Head Resort & Spa. First, let me just say that we were blessed with the BEST vendors for our special day. There are not enough words to describe Carrie and ALL of her assistance throughout our special day. We had seven groomsmen and five bridesmaids, as well as split families, and she handled it all like a champ! She wasn't afraid to tell the guys what to do and where to be. With most of them being Marines, that's EXACTLY what they needed. :) Carrie is truly remarkable at her craft. She took so many photos and it never fekt overwhelming. Not once. Did I mention our photos are absolutely stunning. EVERY.SINGLE.ONE. Carrie was absolutely, 100%, the right choice for our big day. Carrie is a wonderful person inside and out and I can't wait to recommend you to everyone who reads this.

We can not rave about this photographer enough!!! We were on vacation and I found Carrie online and booked a family photo session with her. She was extremely professional and friendly, responding to me promptly. We had some hiccups in our trip and needed to reschedule our session. Carrie was over the top accommodating and made sure we were able to do the photo session during a time that would work for us during our trip. During the shoot she had us come to a really unique location and spent so much time getting great photos of our family. We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old and Carrie was soooo great with the kids and patient. We were so pleased when we got the photos, she gave us so many digitally and at a very reasonable price. The quality was great, she had quite the eye. It was so windy we were figuring it would be hard to get good photos, I'm not sure how she did it. We have so many new favorites of our little ones. If you are looking for someone in this area we could not recommend her more!!!

Carrie was the most outstanding vendor that I hired for our wedding, please go look at her work, its truly incredible!!! Due to Covid, I didn’t get to meet her before the wedding, I simply hired her based on the photos I saw. On the wedding day, Carrie worked so hard to capture everything possible, and she did. As a bride, the photographer is everywhere with you and I truly felt like Carrie was my best friend. She was so calm, loving, and just someone you want to be around. Professionally, she instructed us when we needed help (like cutting the cake) and she made creative suggestions to capture each moment perfectly. When talking to family/friends after the wedding, I cannot count how many made sure to tell me my photographer was incredible because she worked so hard that day. I am blown away by the photos she captured. She also did me an amazing favor by suggesting my awesome videographer (Square City Productions) as well. Carrie is a gem and her work is phenomenal, you will not be disappointed!

You will not be disappointed!! We had a destination wedding in Hilton Head, and met with Carrie once before we booked with her. She is the sweetest! On wedding day, she captured every moment, every detail to perfection. She shot all of the loved ones (and more) that we wanted. There is so much emotion and timelessness in our photos. She has an incredible talent in the way she works with the natural light and landscape. She has a way of capturing the "real" moments, the ones you would least expect, and makes them wonderful. She even captured great candid photos of our guests, which was amazing to look back on. We can't stop looking at our gorgeous photos, and highly recommend Carrie -- she is the best!

A true artist! If you are looking for a wedding photographer look no further!! Carrie is a genius behind the camera, those special little moments and details she captures when you are not looking are remarkable. She sets you at ease allowing her to capture the real you, she is a true professional in every sense of the word and dedicated to her couples. A true testament to her dedication was displayed at our daughters March wedding. Two days prior to the wedding, with 100 guests on site, the bride unfortunately tested positive for Covid. All of our vendors backed out with the exception of Carrie and our wedding planner who was not on site at the time. We moved forward with an impromptu wedding ceremony, Carrie stepped in and created a ceremony timeline, captured every moment of the pre wedding festivities and kept us all on schedule. The photographs taken that day of our daughter and her husband are absolutely gorgeous and many are simply works of art. Her dedication continued for part 2 of the celebration in June. She took nothing for granted and made sure she captured the bridal moments the same as she did on the wedding day. The celebration was amazing and everything we had originally planned. It rained that night and I will never forget watching Carrie with an umbrella in one hand and shooting her camera with the other as she took the bride and groom out for photographs. It rained so hard (thank goodness we had a tent) and at one point we had what felt like a river running through the dance floor, Carrie was standing there in the water with us just snapping away as the bride, groom and all the guests continued to dance. That is true dedication!! Carrie, thank you for capturing the most beautiful moments of the most beautiful couple. The memories you have provided will forever live on in our hearts and on our walls, some of those shots belong in a magazine!! Happy to call you our friend now!

Since this was a destination wedding it was difficult trying to make decisions from afar. Carrie stood out to me at first because we have the same name but once I started to look at Carrie's work, I knew I wanted her to photograph my wedding! She is so talented and I was in awe of her beautiful photographs! Seriously, in awe!! Aside from her photography being AMAZING, she is very sweet and kind - a pleasure to work with. She made all things flow that day. She captured so many moments but it didn't feel like we were in front of the camera the whole time. She was very receptive to any photos I wanted taken and made sure she could fit everything in! Thank you so much, Carrie!!

I wish I could give Carrie Friesen 10 stars on here, in one word she is AMAZING! Picking her as our wedding photographer was hands down the very best decision of our whole wedding experience. I found Carrie's name when I was actually researching wedding videographers, I came across a couple's wedding video done at the same wedding venue as ours and it listed her name as the wedding photographer. I had not come across her name through any of my research on wedding photographers yet so I immediately googled her website. Looking through all the pictures she had taken on her website, I could see that she was a very talented photographer. I immediately sent her an email asking to set up an appointment to meet with her in person. Carrie didn't take long at all to respond back to me and we set up a meeting at Starbucks a couple of days later. I remember this so fondly because I told my fiancé I think we definitely found our wedding photographer, he asked why I knew it was her, I said because she picked Starbucks as our meeting place for the appointment, he said one yeah she is the one. My husband LOVES Starbucks. As soon as we met her it was like we had been friends for years, she was so wonderful!! At that point, we really didn't know much about what we wanted for our wedding but we knew we wanted Carrie to be photographer!! And this was the BEST DECISION EVER MADE!!! She has different wedding packages but I loved how she would basically let you make changes and adjust the packages to what fit for you as a couple and your wedding. I didn't really want to do bridal photos because I just didn't really want that many pictures of just me with my dress so I asked her if we could change it to where we could do an engagement photo session and instead of bridal photos we could do a family photo session with my finances two children from a previous marriage our dog. She said of course, that was not a problem one bit. Oh my goodness, our engagement and family photos are so wonderful. Carrie was able to capture the magic of our family in every image and these photos will forever be dear to our hearts!! She absolutely magnificent during our wedding, she took every picture I asked for and then some. She went above and beyond, capturing so many wonderful moments during our wedding. Not only was she our wedding photographer, she also helped immensely with setting up a wedding timeline as well as directing/coordinating our wedding so we could stay on time in order for us to get all the pictures we wanted at our wedding. Our wedding videographer did not really do a very good job of capturing all the wonderful moments of our reception on video. When we got our wedding video back we were very disappointed because there were so many moments that we remembered that were not on our wedding video. But a couple of weeks later we received our pictures back from Carrie and we immediately saw that she had managed to get every single one of those remembered moments in pictures (which is much harder than capturing it through video)! Like I said earlier, Carrie was the BEST DECISION EVER! She also gave us a gorgeous metal keepsake box that included 12 postcard print wedding pictures as well as a wooden USB with our names on it, the USB as all our wedding pictures on it. We love Carrie and could not have picked a better person to capture the story of our love and wedding in every image. We cannot wait to do more family photos with her!!

I contacted Carrie after she did a beautiful job at a co worker's wedding. She is very prompt, professional and incredibly kind. She went out of her way to get to know myself and my husband. As a photographer, she made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Everyone at my wedding commented on how amazing she was. When I got my photos back, I cried. She captured every single detail perfectly. She is truly the best and I plan to use her for every single life event!

I really can't put into words how amazing Carrie and her work is. She was the absolute best decision made with our wedding and more than worth every single penny spent. She busted her butt and was one of the hardest workers on our wedding day. She showed up early and even though I was totally unprepared for her arrival, she got right to work. My mom got stuck putting together the venue and she also had my dress, my jewelry...everything. But right away Carrie started snapping shots of things that were ready. Bridesmaids, the baby, and the real moments of chaos before a wedding. From the moment she walked in the door to the moment she left for the night she was running. Every guest had something to say about how amazing she was. She made sure to get every photo one might want on a wedding day. Even as unorganized as I was, she made it work. She shared some of the first photos with me and they were stunning. I've never cared for photos of myself until we hired Carrie. Now our house is covered in photos. She captures amazing moments and memories. Not just photos. She captures raw emotion and the beautiful details. If you want your special day captured in a way that will make you cry years down the road, Carrie is the one to hire. She's sweet and caring and fun and she'll make you laugh. You will never regret choosing her to capture life's special moments.
